MedFASH (The Medical Foundation for AIDS and Sexual Health) has outlined the recommended standards for sexual health services, these state that patients who may have been at risk of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) should receive information on the infections for which they are being tested, and know how and when they can receive their results.

 

Result from Telephonetics VIP - an approved NHScat-IT supplier - is an automated solution that allows patients to ring a specified number and

obtain results of any recent medical tests. Frees staff to concentrate on clinical duties.

RESULT SOLUTION FEATURES:

  • Chronological storage of test results.

  • Secure, simple to use, web interface or administration by staff.

  • Configurable to be fully compatible with existing systems and procedures. Result can be configured to import test results from most laboratory management systems.

  • Results status (monitoring which patients have checked their results).

  • Where necessary, a ‘Do Not Announce’ flag for sensitive information

    is selected for results which should not be given directly to patients, but rather by staff. The caller is told that their results are ready but they need to discuss them with a nurse or book a further appointment. The patient’s call is then transferred to an appropriate

    advisor or extension.

  • If required, at any time, the caller can speak directly to an advisor by pressing ‘0’ or an alternative extension.

  • Callers can ring back to hear their results again, for reassurance.

  • More than one clinic or department can share the same Result Solution with a separate licence. Each department has different security logins and will be unable to see other department’s data,

    but utilise the same system.
